“Radio will fade away and will be entirely replaced by television.” Do you agree? Write an article giving three reasons for your standpoint.

What do you think about radio? Is it old, unpopular or obsolete? Most people have the same thought as to it. But, is it really worthless in the world? Actually, radio has its own special worth and we cannot discover merely.

When you cannot sleep at midnight, what will you do? Would you drink a cup of milk, watch the television or listen on the radio? For the elderly, because of their habit they would choose the last one at the first time. In 1950-1970s, television is no longer popular between the normal families, and radio is their only entertainment to spend their time. Therefore, radio has an important position in their heart. What is more, this position is not replaced by television easily.

From the point of the younger, radio maybe is not a fashion, but it is by not means they ignore this mass medium in their life. Every year each Form Five students have to face a test - HKCEE. Almost they are so worried and nervous about their examination, especially when they stay in the exam-hall. However, radio is provided a gate to relax their mood. When the candidates wear the headphone before the exam, they can hear the encouragement saying by DY through the radio. Not only it can help the candidates to relieve the anxious emotion, but also it has a particular function that television cannot do it.

Perhaps, some people think that radio will be replaced by television entirely as it cannot provide more enjoyments to audience such as a colorful screen. Certainly, without a screen it cannot show the situation completely when some accidents happen. Nevertheless, without a screen we can focus the voice more devotedly. For instance, you can enjoy and listen on the music more heartily. But when you watch the television, you would take some attention on the pop-singer singing. It cannot enjoy the voice truly! That is why, I deem that radio cannot be thoroughly replaced by television.

All in all, although radio is not a high technology equipment, it still has its worth, no matter it is for the elderly, or for the younger. Radio may not be the most popular medium in the society, but its meaning is very significant for most Hong Kong people.

All in all, although radio is not a highly advanced technology equipment, it still has its worth. No matter it is for the elderly, or for the youngsters, radio may not be the most popular medium in the society, but its presence is very significant for most Hong Kong people.
